What we do

  • The goal of the Foundation is to create community restoration in historically marginalized areas. The way we realize the goal is to focus at the project level on small, achievable steps while measure the impact of each project. We execute projects focused on the student and the community, and we provide expanded opportunities for commerce and social entrepreneurship.

  • Integrated student services focus on the individual learner. The student support we provide may be as simple as school supplies and warm clothing. We aim to help students focus on preparing for college, university, or vocational training.

Internships offer an excellent mechanism for individuals to gain real world experience. We have started an internship program for those interested in working in the restaurant industry and more career options will be added in the coming year, including nursing and clean energy.

  • An Open Doors Ambassador is a resident of the community who is willing to help identify opportunities for educational programming, connect to community influencers and leaders, and represent Open Doors Foundation projects in the region.

A Catalog of Services connects groups having resources to front line organizations that can be adopted and their needs met over the long term. The Catalog of Services will also link learners across the state to opportunities (internships, startup programs, peer mentoring, and employment opportunities) within their region and beyond.

  • Open Doors Arizona will provide workshops helping participants develop business models for local markets. Participants are led from concept to design of a business plan that may be used to launch a commercial startup or social enterprise (non-profit). Successful entrepreneurs from around the region provide expertise and inspiration. The current roll out plan includes:

Summer 2023: Startup workshop for entrepreneurs who want to launch a for-profit business that will create jobs in the community.

Fall 2023: Social Enterprise workshop for community leaders who want to create a nonprofit entity to create social impact in the community.
